The Creative Curriculum in St. Columba’s Catholic Primary School has been organised through a ‘topic based’ approach which incorporates the key skills set out in the National Curriculum. The subjects covered within our Creative Curriculum are; History, Geography, Art and Design, Music and Design Technology. The use of ICT is encouraged in all topic areas as well as being subject in its own right. We follow the Chris Quigley Milestones of key skills which help us to show progression in all subjects.
Our school’s curriculum promotes enquiry based learning, acquiring knowledge, developing skills and personal growth. We offer children a broad, balanced, differentiated and relevant curriculum which recognises individual developmental needs and takes account of National Curriculum requirements.
We focus on developing children’s learning capacity so that they can become positive learners who can work and cooperate with others, while at the same time developing their knowledge and skills, in order to be the best they can be.
