School Council

At St Columba’s, our School Council is a representative group of pupils elected by their peers to share their views and raise important issues with the senior leadership team and governors. Our School Council also takes forward ideas and initiatives on behalf of the children across the school, and may contribute to strategic planning, including involvement in the School Development Plan, governing body meetings, and staff appointments.

The School Council at St Columba’s helps pupils to:

  • enjoy and feel empowered by their education;

  • feel that the school listens and responds to their needs;

  • have opportunities to share their feelings and opinions about things that affect them;

  • take part in decision-making and play an active role in making St Columba’s an even better place to learn and grow.
