Matthew 5:16

Hello and welcome to our Year 2 class page. This page will let you know all of the important information you will need for the year!

Welcome to our Year 2 class page! I am Miss Brown, and I am the class teacher. I am very lucky to be working alongside three wonderful members of our team: Miss Jones, Miss Lawrence, and Mr Williams. Together, we are committed to creating a warm, supportive, and inspiring environment where every child feels valued and encouraged to reach their full potential. We are excited for the year ahead and look forward to helping your children grow in confidence, curiosity, and a love of learning.

Religious Education

Religious Education is at the heart of all we do in Year 2. It guides us to learn more about God, to live like Jesus and to grow in faith and love. We do Religious Education for two hours each week to fully immerse and celebrate our Catholic ethos.

Reading

These will be changed every Tuesday and Friday. Please make every effort to read with your child at home regularly and discuss the characters and story. We will continue to give stars out for each book returned. Will your child be the ‘Read for the Stars’ champion this term?

PE

This half term, we will have P.E. on a Tuesday and a Thursday. We do ask that children have P.E. kits in school every day in case of a change to the timetable.

Spellings

Spelling tests are completed each Friday. Your child has received a pack for spellings for this half term. Please help your child to learn these before each test.

Homework

This will be given out every Friday and must be returned by the following Wednesday. The children will receive Maths and English homework each week. In addition to this, the children will be given topic or project homework each half term.

Writing: Look at the picture provided and write a story using the setting as a prompt.

Maths: Complete all problem solving questions on the sheet provided.
