At St Columba’s, History is taught as part of a carefully planned, knowledge-rich curriculum that empowers children to build connections, deepen understanding and grow as learners. Through our values pupils will:
- gain secure chronological awareness and develop a strong historical narrative,
- investigate and evaluate evidence and viewpoints through enquiry,
- understand how and why societies change over time,
- deepen their knowledge of significant people, events, places and cultures both in Britain and globally,
- make meaningful links between past and present, enriching their sense of identity and responsibility.
In doing this, we aim for all children to leave St Columba’s with a love of History, confident in their ability to question, reflect and contribute positively to their community and beyond.
